As part of our book week celebration we read a book in the Library with Simone called My Brother by Dee, Oliver and Tiffany Huxley. It was about a bear grieving for his brother, we then made worry dolls to help us when we are feeling sad or worried.

Swimming

Water Safety and Awareness Program 2017

Our swimming program is on next week 28/8 – 1/9

It is very important that students are at school on time as our bus leaves at 9am.
Our swimming lesson is 9:30am-10:30am and the bus will leave the pool at 11am

Students will be participating in the Water Safety and Awareness Program at Westminster School Indoor Swimming Pool. The program is run by Austswim qualified instructors, with the aim of the program to teach students how to swim effectively with a strong focus on learning water safety, dry rescue, survival and endurance techniques.

WHAT TO BRING
Suitable swimwear for lessons such as board shorts, speedos, one piece ‘racer style’ etc. Suntops are not necessary but can be worn if preferred. Lightweight leggings, long sleeved tops and head scarves (or swim cap) are appropriate for students observing cultural requirements.
Goggles- recommended as the water is chlorinated.
Named clothing-please! Unnamed items will be placed in lost property in the lower Mortlock corridor.
Students will change clothing at school prior to their lesson and will change at the pool following their lesson. Children with an early morning lesson can come to school with their bathers under their school uniform.

Book Week

This week we celebrate book week. This Friday is the dress up parade at 10.20 around the netball court. Students are allowed to remain in their costumes all day. If it rains we will re locate to the hall at 10.20 for years 3-7.

We have our book week performance this week so please return the consent form and payment if you would like your child to participate.

On Wednesday in the library for years 3 & 4 there are comic strip creations for those who would like to participate.

Have fun celebrating book week!
